Some client problems need more than good prompting. You’ll take on the hard model work: fine-tuning, retrieval quality, eval design, and getting inference costs down.
This is a contract role with real scope. You pick up a problem, own it, and hand back something the team can run without you.
— Design and run evals that tell us the truth about model quality.
— Fine-tune and optimize models when prompting isn’t enough.
— Improve retrieval pipelines: chunking, embeddings, ranking.
— Cut inference costs without cutting quality.
— Deep hands-on experience with LLMs in production.
— Strong Python and the usual ML tooling.
— You measure before you optimize, and you write it down.
— Comfortable working async with a remote team.
— Published work, open-source, or writing we can read.
— Experience with multilingual or domain-specific models.
— You’ve worked on retrieval-heavy products before.
